I have a great opportunity to be an elder to the students through the pride center at my college. lt always makes me smile when they recognize my flag, and even think to grab an ace sticker or other freebie for me. It’s so hard to feel like I’m their elder sometimes. They seem to be taking care of me just as much.
I had my asexual awakening in November 2009, when I was 22, by finding others (first a classmate, then by finding AVEN) and seeing myself in their experiences. It was very liberating. I’m 36, going on 37, now. Thank you for sharing this idea of our part to play in the Ace Community.
